What is the focus of your life?
It is easy to focus on past events, blame others for your current situation, look at others and think that could have been me and to focus on what you don’t have.
Instead, ensure you focus on what you are grateful for; what you do have in your life.
Fear of failure often outweighs the desire to succeed. Focus on what you will achieve and then you will unlock a new aspect of yourself that you didn’t know you had.
Don’t blame others or your past, for what you don’t have, or what you are not. Focus on what you would like to be and what you would like to do. Take control and look at what your goal is; what you would like to achieve, what you would like your life to look like in a year or five years’ time. Consider what skills, knowledge and resources do you have already for this? What do you need to learn or put in place for this to happen? What steps or actions do you need to take?
Plan small achievable steps along the way so that you can know when you have completed them and then celebrate that achievement before moving on. Allow yourself to celebrate so that you can appreciate that you have made progress in your life. Nowadays, it is easy for companies and professions to move on to the next goal without celebrating or acknowledging the work of their teams and staff in achieving goals and outcomes. When this is the case, it is unfortunate as it is easy to become demotivated. If you never celebrate and are grateful for others’ achievements then people may begin to feel like their achievements are not good enough.
“Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve.” (Napoleon Hill)
Focus on taking control and plan to succeed. If you need support to do this then look for a coach who you feel comfortable with to give you the tools and techniques to achieve your dreams.
“The distance between your dreams and reality is called action. Follow your passion and face your fear. The rewards are awesome.” (Anonymous)
